We are the captain’s of our fate.  We are not merely passengers in this thing called life.  And there will certainly be times when we are tested and tried, but it is how we pick ourselves up from those setbacks and push forward that really defines who we are.

The beauty in children is their ability to believe in the possibilities.  Their limited experiences with setbacks and failures allow them to know that the world is their oyster.  However, somewhere between that time when we were children and now as adults, our focus may shift from possibilities to the obstacles in our path.  Why??  Simply because we may have experienced failure one too many time and have created shackles that hold us back.  It may be enough to abandon dreams, settle and even give up.  But, the truth of the matter is you are not really living if that is what you choose. 

You must be willing to weather the storm, push through the bumps in life and dare to be as great as you are able to be.  The song “Hold On” is an oldie but a goodie and really paints the picture that what we think about we bring about.  It’s never too late to be what it is you wanted to be and to live the kind of life you’ve always dreamed about.  The question is are you brave enough to see past your current situation and start taking actions to change your circumstance?
